What we trade

Five divisions, one supply discipline

Each division is run by people who know that specific crop — its seasons, its grades and the ways a lot can quietly go wrong between the field and the port.

Who we are

An export house built around the growers, not the paperwork

Coast India Agro LLP trades from Mangaluru, on the strip of coast where the Western Ghats drop into the Arabian Sea. It is one of the most productive agricultural belts in India and, for a trading company, an unusually convenient one: coconut, pepper, cardamom, coffee, cashew, areca and coir all grow within a day’s reach of the same port.

We are not a broker forwarding someone else’s pro forma. We aggregate from named mills and grower clusters, verify each lot against the specification the buyer actually signed, and stay on the file until the container is discharged. When something does go wrong — and in agriculture it eventually does — we would rather tell you early and re-plan than let you find out at the terminal.

Why buyers stay

Six things we do differently

None of these are remarkable individually. Doing all six, on every lot, for years, is the part most suppliers find difficult.

We are next to the crop

Our base in Mangaluru sits inside the coconut, spice and coffee belt we trade in. Most of our supply lines are a few hours away by road, so lots get inspected before we commit to them — not after a claim is raised.

Tested before it is offered

Residue, aflatoxin, heavy-metal and micro screens are run at NABL-accredited laboratories and attached to the lot, not produced afterwards. If a batch does not test, we do not offer it.

Paperwork that clears first time

Phytosanitary certificates, certificates of origin, health certificates and pre-shipment inspection are prepared in parallel with production so documents land ahead of the vessel, not behind it.

Specification-led supply

We quote against your grade, moisture, mesh, cut size, packing and certification requirements rather than pushing a fixed catalogue. Private label and custom tooling are standard, not exceptions.

Fair at the farm gate

We buy direct from growers and small mills wherever the volume allows, at prices that keep them solvent through a bad season. Reliable supply is not something you can negotiate for after the fact.

Built for repeat programmes

One contact carries your account from first enquiry to arrival notice. Most of our volume is annual contract business, which is the only honest test of whether a supplier is any good.

How it works

From enquiry to arrival, in five steps

1

Specification & quotation

You send the product, grade, volume, packing, certification and destination port. We come back with a firm CIF or FOB price and a realistic production window.

2

Samples & approval

Pre-shipment samples are couriered for your approval. For coffee and tea we cup together before the contract is fixed.

3

Production & testing

The lot is produced, packed to your artwork if required, and tested at an accredited laboratory against the agreed parameters.

4

Documentation & stuffing

Export documents are compiled while the container is stuffed under supervision. Photographs and the packing list go to you the same day.

5

Sailing & arrival

You receive the B/L, the full document set and weekly tracking until discharge. One person owns the file throughout.
